What is an unmanned aerial vehicle pilot certification?

This is a qualification system that certifies that you have the skills (knowledge and ability) necessary to fly an unmanned aerial vehicle.

Overview of the system

The Unmanned Aircraft Pilot Proficiency Certification System is a qualification system that certifies that you have the skills (knowledge and ability) necessary to fly an unmanned aircraft. Applications are accepted through the Drone Information Infrastructure System (DIPS2.0), which is operated and managed by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. The candidate's skills are assessed through the unmanned aircraft pilot test (written test, practical test, and physical examination) administered by a designated testing organization, and a unmanned aircraft pilot proficiency certificate is issued. In addition, by completing the required training at a registered training organization, you will be exempt from the practical test at the designated testing organization.

Skill certificates are divided into two categories: first-class unmanned aircraft pilot, which covers the skills required for Category III flight, and second-class unmanned aircraft pilot, which covers the skills required for Category II flight. The type of unmanned aircraft or the method of flight is limited depending on the test passed.
